Thousands attend 4014 and 844 Celebration at Ogden, Utah #done

OGDEN, UTAH - Thousands turned yesterday for the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad in Ogden, Utah. Union Pacific recently restored Big Boy 4-8-8-4

#4014 to operation. The Big Boy and UP's other restored steam locomotive 4-8-4 #844 double headed from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Ogden, Utah over the past couple of days.

The 150th anniversary event featured railroad executives tapping a replica golden spike into the rails just 40 miles away from the original meeting spot on the transcontinental railroad. The celebration also included songs about the big boy, railroad videos, and the deafning whistles of UP nos. 844 and 4014.
